HOMECELL TEACHING GUIDE – WEEK 45 OF 52
05 NOVEMBER 2018 – 11 NOVEMBER 2018
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE: 2 Kings 6:1-7
Good day family; It is important for us to understand what the church of God is all about. The church of God is not an organization. It is not just a structure. It is a living organism and it is a spiritual place, where those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus fellowship. As we gather we know that beyond all that we see, there are angelic beings, and God our creator is in our midst. Therefore you have to open your heart and expect something that goes beyond the intellect of men. The gathering of believers is bigger than just the gathering of good people.
The scripture above speaks of a man who was found faithful to carry double portion the anointing of his spiritual father, Elijah. This man is Elisha. The sons of the prophets approached him to ask for permission to extend the place of their dwelling as it had become small. As you align with God he will release upon you such a blessing that you will not have room enough to contain. You will have to enlarge your capacity to receive and accommodate it. “Such a blessing” means a different level of a blessing.
The sons of prophets were submitted to Elisha to learn from him. They knew they were called to be prophets but they were learning from Elisha. Revelation does not move away education. Those who are anointed will always be drawn to knowledge. What you know will empower you. Once you know you are called for the prophetic you must be trained into it.
When the sons of prophets went to cut down trees they asked Elisha to come along. As one of them was cutting the trees, the axe head fell into the water. Immediately he called on Elisha, saying, it was borrowed. Thank God he had a prophet in his life to stand with him in that situation. If you have a prophet in your life, you can not be defeated. For your blessing and your next level God has a man anointed and appointed by Him, for you.
As the man called for Elisha’s help, Elisha asked him and said, “Where did it fall?” This means that when things are going wrong, in order to fix the problem you should go to the root of it. If it was caused by a wrong decision or act, you must go back and fix it there or change what !b have to change today. You must ask yourself, “Where did I go wrong?” If you do not understand where you went wrong, even if we fix the situation today you will go back to the same things.
As this man pointed to where the axe head had fallen, Elisha cut off a stick and threw it in there, and the axe head floated miraculously. The stick here represents the cross of Jesus Christ. Because of the power of the cross, the axe head of your finances, health, marriage and family will float. A miracle will happen to you.
